Steven M. Joenk is Chair and CEO of Equitable Investment Management and a member of Equitable’s Operating Committee.

Equitable Investment Management is brand name of the registered investment advisers for the more than 120 portfolios that underlie Equitable’s variable insurance products, retail mutual funds and suite of model portfolios. Mr. Joenk is a trustee of the EQ Advisors Trust and 1290 Funds. He is also a member of Equitable’s ESG Steering Committee and serves as Chair of the Equitable Foundation Board of Directors.

Mr. Joenk joined Equitable in 1999. He previously served as Equitable’s Chief Investment Officer, overseeing the investment of Equitable’s General Account, and served as Chair of EQ Advisors Trust, 1290 Funds, and the AXA VIP Trust. 

He was also Chair and President of Enterprise Capital Management, Inc., Co-Chairman of Enterprise Funds Distributor, Inc. and a Director of 1740 Advisers, Inc., MONY Asset Management Inc. 

Earlier in his career, Mr. Joenk held senior leadership positions at MeesPierson, Inc., Gabelli Funds, Inc. and Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management, a subsidiary of Paine Webber, Inc.

Mr. Joenk graduated from Washington University with a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering. He is a member of the American Red Cross in Greater New York’s regional Board of Directors.
